VFW Healthy Veteran Initiative Program Manager

Missoula's VFW Ole Beck Post 209 seeks a full-time Program Manager to lead the VFW Healthy Veteran Initiative (VFW-HVI), a suicide prevention program funded through the VA’s SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant and based at the Post’s new Veteran Gym and Resource Center. The role includes supervising grant-funded staff, coordinating with community partners such as Red Willow Learning Center and the Montana Vet Program, and making sure every Veteran who walks through the door is connected to the screening, support, and referrals they need.

The Program Manager is also responsible for grant compliance, including participant enrollment, suicide risk screening documentation, outcome tracking, budget monitoring, and timely reporting to the VA. The ideal candidate has experience managing grant-funded programs, a working knowledge of Veteran services and VA benefits, and the judgment to build trust with Veterans and their families. Military service or a close connection to the Veteran community is strongly preferred. The Program Manager reports to the Post Commander and the grant committee.
