United Way of Missoula County

Communications Manager

As part of the Resource Development & Marketing team, United Way of Missoula County’s Communications Manager will ensure a consistent organizational voice and experience across multiple communication channels. Working as a member of the team, and under the supervision of the Director of Development & Marketing, the Communications Manager will create and launch captivating communications experiences to enable our targeted audiences to discover, explore, interact with, and support United Way of Missoula County.

The Flagship Program

Part-time assistant instructor

Flagship is FREE of charge to all participants and families. Flagship provides access to activities such as art, engineering, filmmaking, sports, science, gardening, homework help, guitar, role-playing games, and much more in a safe and fun learning environment. . This is a temporary, part-time, non-benefitted position. The ideal number of days worked per week is five but the minimum number of days worked per week is three. Up to 20 hours per week during the school year, 1:30-5:30 pm, M-F and duties include direct service and admin support with any grade level

Lead Cook/Kitchen Manager

Planning & preparing a cost-effective menu following the dietary guidelines for seniors. Responsible for assuring all health code requirements are met in storage, prep and food service. Responsible for maintaining organization's recipe file. Supervise all kitchen staff and volunteers and use of kitchen equipment and supplies. Order and inventory food and kitchen supplies within budget and contractual agreements.

Garden City Harvest

Farm to School Apprentice

The Farm to School Apprentice will help with aspects of Garden City Harvest’s Farm to School program including educational farm field trips and summer camps. There will also be many special projects that are based at the PEAS Farm or in one of the eight school gardens. Learn by doing with the Farm to School team!

The Apprentice assists and works closely with Community Garden staff in managing ten community garden sites and one therapeutic vegetable garden, to create safe and functional sites where community members can grow their own food. This position offers a blend of dynamic outdoor physical work with an emphasis on problem solving and customer service skills. This is a traditional apprentice position: meant to facilitate learning by doing.
